The heart of sustain
Why Sustained Support Matters
This special group of giving centers on one powerful word: sustain.
Abortion often happens in moments of fear, isolation, and limited options. But when a woman is surrounded by consistent care, education, and practical support, her choices expand.
Sustained support replaces fear with stability.
It replaces crisis with hope.
Shiloh Sustainers make that transformation possible.
Because when support is present – everything changes.
The need
Support Changes Outcomes
As the only pregnancy resource center in Cass County, Shiloh provides critical, wraparound care to women facing unexpected pregnancy.
Through:
- Medical services
- Education
- Practical resources
- Ongoing mentorship
We help mothers move from crisis to stability – and protect the lives and futures of their babies.
But this kind of care doesn’t happen in a single visit.
It takes consistency.
It takes community.
It takes people committed to sustaining the journey.
Story (Michelle)
This Is What Sustained Support Looks Like
The path that leads women to Shiloh looks different for each one.
Some come unsure if they will choose life.
Others already know they will – but don’t know how they’ll walk it out.
Michelle came in nervous but excited about her first pregnancy. It was unplanned. Her boyfriend travels for work, she works full time, and while abortion was never an option, the weight of what was ahead felt heavy.
When she saw her baby on the sonogram screen for the first time, something shifted. There were still unknowns – but one thing became clear:
She would choose to parent.
And she didn’t want to do it alone.
Before she left, Michelle enrolled in Shiloh’s My Strong Family Program.
From that moment forward, she wasn’t navigating this on her own.
Continued Story:
From pregnancy to birth and beyond, Michelle receives consistent, personalized support.
She is equipped through classes that meet her where she is—from prenatal care to newborn care, budgeting, single parenting, and rebuilding a foundation of faith.
As she reaches each milestone, she receives tangible support:
- A Car Seat & Stroller
- A Safe Sleep Bassinet
- A Highchair
- A breast pump
- Essential baby items
And that support doesn’t stop at birth.
It continues – walking with her through the toddler years and the challenges that follow.
This is what it looks like to surround and sustain a mother for the long road ahead.
